How Summer Camps have evolved

Earlier, when people used to hear the term ‘Summer Camps', they instantly thought of tents in unknown, unsafe areas where kids are struggling to manage without even basic amenities. Times have now changed, with parents willing to spend a good deal of money to keep their kids safe, these camps have definitely evolved over a period of time. Now, entrepreneurs who have a wide range of experience are entering this market to create camps that would cater to the modern age children. Gone are the days when kids were forced to rough it out. Today these camps have been run by a team of professional who are very well informed about what the kids of this generation are looking for in camps.
These days the camps have also evolved in terms of the kind of activities being offered to them. Earlier a very limited number of activities were offered that were physically exhausting but never really benefitted the kids. A very important observation that the new generation entrepreneurs made was that these camps should offer activities that were not only fun but also helped kids learn. These activities would be a perfect way for them to learn something new. Parents are also keen to see their kids get to know new things in a fun setting. Hence, new activities were organised that were not only entertaining but also informative. These activities help kids to work on their all round personality development and help them get a better perspective about life. Kids become more mature and become more responsible. Another interesting facet of these activities is that they help the children learn about the importance of team work. When kids engage in competitions that involve working with a group of people they barely know, they end up realising the importance of working together.
These programmes have become really popular the west and parents make sure their children make it a point to attend these programmes and be benefitted. Looking at this popular trend, camps in India have also slowly started evolving and bringing new changes to their programmes. These camps are now being organised at places that have a calming, serene environment to help the kids relax and truly enjoy themselves by staying away from the hustle bustle of city life. Places like Coorg, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu and Rishikesh offer an ideal setting for these children. The beautiful weather and the soothing environment is an added bonus for the kids. Unlike earlier, these programmes offer a range of interesting activities to these kids that will help them learn new concepts like team leadership and personality development. The children become more confident and also get a unique opportunity to interact with people from different age groups. Parents in India are now realising the importance of such programs and the positive impact it has on children. They are now researching about major companies offering these camps and find ways to enrol their children. After all, these programmes have a lot to offer in terms of learning to these kids.
