Commonly Required - Camping Equipment

Although there are several different ways that one can enjoy camping as a recreational activity the most well known way is the traditional way where one or more people go out to a campsite and rough it for one or more nights living off the bare necessities. While the different forms of camping all depends on the time of season and where the camping location is there are specific camping equipment that are meant for each type of condition weather can provide. This article will attempt to provide informative detail as to what kind of equipment will be needed for: - set up - food/hunting - safety and other needs
Setting Up   The typical way one goes camping is by using a tent or other forms of shelter such as a lean to. Although the modern way of camping is by using a recreation vehicle known simply as an RV it is not the real way to rough it while on a camping trip. If using a tent a hammer or mallet will be needed to drive the stakes into the ground. If camping from the use of an RV, however, setting up is done differently. When camping in a tent it is recommended to find a flat piece of ground so the tent can be safely secure. Also, be cautious of any wild animals in the area. Setting up in a wild animals natural habitat can be dangerous.
Food/Hunting    When camping out in the wilderness food is typically prepared over a campfire. As a result, there are a few key pieces of camping equipment that will be of great value and use during the time spent in the outdoors. It is not uncommon to bring a fishing pole along on a camping trip man can not live on fish alone. A chuck box, for food prep storage, is a nice thing to include in the check off list. Another good thing to have is any type of cooking implementation that can be used over a campfire. These usually include devices such as tripod chained grills, dutch ovens, or clay pots. Of course, it is equally important to have a cooler along for storing drinks and other food items that are required to stay cold.
Safety and Other Needs   While camping can be a fun outdoors activity for everybody safety should be number one above everything else. However, there are times when accidents happen. This is where having a first aid kit comes in handy. It doesn't have to be anything elaborate but a basic kit will work just fine. Of course, having other camping equipment like flashlights, axes, sleeping bags, and tarps are an added plus. Some final recommendations for essential camping equipment to have on hand includes things like raincoats or ponchos, bug spray and sunscreen multi - tool knives, (one per person), and any lightweight personal care items required. Don't forget the sleeping bag and blankets.
In conclusion, for anybody who is either new to camping or for those who are experienced campers who have been on many camping trips during their lifetime it is equivalently important to include any kind of camping equipment that is deemed necessary. While it is ideally typical to pack as light as possible, especially when hiking into the campsite, the essentials are mandatory. One other thing to keep in mind when camping is to continually drink water. This can be done with bought water or through the camp lakes and rivers (bring a water filter in case). After all these camping equipment items have been checked off the list it is safe to say that the trip can officially begin!
