When Should You Buy New Cheerleading Gear?

Cheerleading gear, such as cheerleading uniforms, poms, warm up clothes, shoes, and just about related to cheerleading, is something that has to be refreshed every couple of years. The designs that are coming out every couple of years just scream for your attention as a cheerleading coach or athletic director. How do you know when to get new cheerleading gear? Well, there are a few different ways for you to know.

1. The first way to know when to get new cheerleading uniforms and other cheerleading accessories is when your school or professional team that you are associated with gets new uniforms for the players. So, for example, say the football team your squad cheers for gets sleek, new uniforms for the next season, this would be a good time to order new cheerleading uniforms and other cheerleading accessories to match the new uniforms; this is especially true if the new team uniforms are much different than before, even if the color scheme is the same.
2. The second way to know that you should get new cheerleading apparel is when the team you cheer for gets a new color scheme. This one is kind of a no brainer but I had to include it. It just would not make sense to be rocking the old colors that might be way different than what the team is wearing now; if your team is wearing green and gold and your cheerleading squad is wearing the old colors of blue and orange, then people will be mighty confused about what your squad is wearing.
3. The third way to know it is time to get new cheerleading gear is by looking at the designs that are trending. As we know, fashion trends change all the time, every year is different; fortunately, cheer clothes do not change quite as much but they still change every few years. Look back to the 1950s and 1960s when cheerleaders wore long skirts and long sleeves, now they wear short skirts and sleeveless tops that show midriff (not that there is anything wrong with the either style) but that just goes to show you that styles within the cheerleading world do change. If your squad is not keeping up with the trends, then in a few years, your squad could look outdated.

The days of keeping your cheerleading uniforms for years upon years are gone. However, while you probably do not have to buy new ones every year but it is a good idea to buy every few years just to stay current.
